Depart Seattle on a self-drive tour of the breathtaking Olympic Peninsula and an opportunity to explore miles of shoreline, nearly a million acres of national park and even a rainforest. Your tour will give you a night’s stay at three unique destinations including Sol Duc Hot Springs, Kalaloch Lodge & Lake Quinault Lodge. Each stop is unique offering a diverse range of sights and activities in the area.

Day 1: Depart for Sol Duc Hot Springs

Sol Duc Hot Springs - "Sol Duc" the land of sparkling waters, named so by the Quileute Tribe is nestled in the heart of Olympic National Park where you can take a leisurely walk through the forest to Sol Duc Falls or hike to a subalpine meadow where there is a breathtaking view of Mt. Olympus. Returning to the resort you can have a relaxing massage after a soak in the hot spring pools, and then have a tasty dinner with a northwest flare and a bottle of wine from a local winery, then retire to your rustic cabin to drift off to sleep with the sounds of the river running by your cabin. You will wake rested, ready to do some more exploring in this spectacular National Park!

What to see and do:

  • Dungeness Spit/Dungeness National Wildlife Refuge is Just a short drive off Hwy 101, Dungeness Spit is the largest natural sand hook in the nation. A wonderful place for beachcombers, hikers and bird watchers.
  • Hurricane Ridge will take you from sea level in Port Angeles to 5100 feet in the Olympic National Park in 17 miles. At the top you will find a visitor center, breathtaking views and sub alpine meadows awash with wildflowers from July – September. 
  • Lake Crescent and Marymere Falls are located just off Hwy 101 as it follows the southern curve of Lake Crescent, is the trail head for Marymere Falls, a 1 ½ mile roundtrip hike to a 90 foot Waterfall.
  • Sol Duc Valley offers outstanding beauty as well as recreation. Sol Duc Falls is one of the largest and most beautiful in the Olympic National Park and Sol Duc River is a lively salmon stream with many trails and abundant wildlife.

Day 2: Sol Duc Hot Springs to Kalaloch Lodge

Experience the wild, wonderous coastal beauty of Olympic National Park. At Kalaloch Lodge, perched high on a bluff just steps from the beach, you'll marvel at the many moods of the powerful Pacific. Here you'll be enchanted by mesmerizing coastal views as you explore one of Washington State's most pristine stretches of sandy beach. What to see and do:

  • Olympic Coast National Marine Sanctuary is 3,310 square miles including as much as 50 miles off the Pacific Ocean shore. This vast area is famous for its miles of unspoiled coastline, salmon and halibut, gray whales, sea birds and sea otters.
  • Hoh Rainforest – located 18 miles of Hwy 18 is nature’s celebration of green. Learn about the rain forest by doing one of the interpretive trails and by visiting the Hoh Visitor Center.
  • Olympic National Forrest covers over 632,000 acres. It offers a variety of activities including hiking, backpacking, picnicking and boating.

Day 3: Kalaloch Lodge to Lake Quinault Lodge

What to see and do:

  • Lake Quinault is a picturesque lake nestled in the rain forest of the Olympic National Park. Here you can stroll the half mile interpretive trail or have coffee or a meal at the Quinault Lodge, a historic lodge located on the lake.
  • Ocean Beaches, part of Olympic National Park, includes 60 miles of unspoiled beaches along the west coast of the Olympic Peninsula can be accessed by a limited span of Highway 101 that follows the coast line.

Day 4: Depart Kalaloch Lodge for home

Lake Quinault Lodge is your last stop on the this stunning tour of the Olympic Peninsula. From here, return home or add on nights to explore more of the Olympic Peninsula's picturesque wonders.
