Your wilderness vacation begins in Seattle from Pier 69 on the historic waterfront. You will board one of the famous Victoria Clipper catamarans bound for Victoria - the capital of British Columbia. Aboard the boat, you can enjoy a complimentary continental breakfast, visit our gift shop to purchase duty-free items, play a card game or just kick back and enjoy the cruise. As your boat nears the Inner Harbour, you'll see the beautiful Victorian-style architecture and preserved British culture of this important city that you will have the afternoon and evening to enjoy! Begin Your Nature Vacation At Your Quadra Island Resort!In the morning, you will pick up your rental car and begin your scenic drive to Campbell River. Winding northward over the Island Highway, your route offers panoramic views of the Gulf Islands and the Straight of Georgia. Upon arrival in at the Painter's Lodge (sister property to the April Point Lodge) in Campbell River, you will then be transferred by an exciting water taxi ride to the beautiful Quadra Island. In the morning, you'll depart from the April Point Lodge and hit the waters for a chance to see Orca Whales in their natural habitat! The orcas, also called killer whales, are well-known on Quadra Island in the summertime and have been delighting whale-watchers for years with their playful splashes. Your boat will take you to the famous Robson Bight, where the orcas pull up to shore and rub their bellies in the warm, shallow sand. You may get a close-up look at these majestic creatures as they enjoy one of their favorite activities! After your whale experience, you'll head over to historic Telegraph Cove and visit a working fish farm. You'll also enjoy a complimentary lunch before heading back to your resort for another peaceful night on Quadra Island. Here you can relax at the resort as you gear up for another exciting day of your nature vacation. Watch For Bears On Your Zodiac Wildlife Vacation!On day 4 of your wilderness vacation, you will cruise through the breathtaking Desolation Sound and enjoy the majesty of Toba Inlet. Here is your chance to sit back and take in the full beauty of your surroundings as you and the professional crew seek out the native Black Bears that inhabit this natural wonderland. You'll visit the Mitlenatch Island Marine Park and Bird Sanctuary where you can observe sea lions, dolphins, eagles, timber wolves, deer and more. In the morning of your fifth day, you'll head to Victoria via Campbell River by coach and water taxi. Back in the city once again, you're free to spend the evening as you please. Take advantage of all the big city perks that Victoria's downtown center offers. Enjoy a pleasing dinner and, if you're not too tired, check out the active Victoria nightlife found in pubs, cocktail lounges and performing arts centers. After a rousing evening in Victoria, head back to your convenient downtown hotel and relax in comfort and style. Spend the last day of your nature vacation exploring more of downtown Victoria including city parks, government buildings, the historic Fairmont Empress hotel and the shopping district. In the afternoon, you'll head down to the harbor and board the Victoria Clipper for your relaxing cruise back to Seattle.
