Sales Manager

Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree preferred
Minimum of two years’ sales experience in the hospitality, transportation or related industry.
Extensive sales skills
Proven contacts in corporate, association and local tour and travel market
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Ability to work in a team environment, as a team player and with minimal direct supervision
Proficiency with MS Work, Excel, Outlook and a data base program, i.e. ACT
Some flexibility with work schedule

Position Details: Full Time, Year ‘round, available immediately.

Office location: Pier 69 in Seattle.

Compensation: Salary and Benefits with opportunity for Commission.

Reservation Agents

Come work in a fast-paced and friendly environment in the exciting travel industry! The Victoria Clipper is looking for upbeat, outgoing and detail-oriented individuals to join our Reservation Agent team.

Reservation Agents answer incoming calls regarding sales and inquiries of all Victoria Clipper/Clipper - Vacations products including transportation, hotel accommodations, tours and car rentals. Agents are also responsible for checking-in passengers for all vessel departures, including ticketing and baggage handling. Administrative support, cash handling and outbound calling to travel agencies and tour operators is also part of the position. All Victoria Clipper employees are expected to provide a superior level of customer service to all patrons.

A qualified Reservation Agent candidate will:

Have strong interpersonal and customer service skills and a proven sales ability
Be willing and able to work any shift
Have a stable work history
Be able to work well with coworkers as part of a close-knit team in a fast-paced environment
Have professional computer and phone experience
Be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
Be a citizen of the U.S. or have the legal right to be employed in the U.S.
Be able to read, write and speak English fluently
Commit to work through the summer of 2010

The paid training classes for new Reservation Agents will begin on February 11, 2010 and March 18, 2010. Reservation Agents are scheduled 40 hours per week between the hours of 5:45 AM and 10:15 PM, seven days a week, including most holidays. Shifts are assigned based on seniority, and Agents must be available to work any shift. Shifts may change from week to week.

Wages are $12.50 per hour plus commission. Agents with strong sales make an average of $2.50+ per hour commission. Medical and travel benefits are available after a probationary period. Parking/Transportation stipend of up to $100/month is provided after the training period. Overtime opportunities are available as needed. All positions are located in Seattle, WA.
